　　正德四年五月壬辰朔巡抚大同都察院左佥都御史熊伟以考察自陈乞休许之时文贵以兵部侍郎兼副都御史总制边务遂升贵为右都御史巡抚其地而罢总制勿设修边之役亦令镇巡官斟酌缓急量为处置瑾初用贵议锐意修边而总制之添亦仅一月至是乃中变焉贵之升用又出内批其专横任意无所顾忌如此
